10A Elevator Pitch 1

9A: Testing the Hypothesis 2

Who:
Through my interviews I found that gym goers who solely focus on weightlifting, prefer group fitness classes, have found aerobic exercises they love to replace cardio machines, don’t have time to work out, or are uninterested in working out fall outside the boundary.

What:
In a society where jobs are becoming more sedentary and health awareness is on the rise, there is a growing need to work out. This product is for those who want to improve their cardio and want a more stimulating machine. This what does not include anaerobic exercise, group fitness, or sports.

Why:
Currently, there is a rise in global awareness regarding health. With this rise in global awareness comes a steady rise in the number of health clubs and the allowance given to employees to spend on fitness. Opportunely, the cardiovascular machine is the equipment of choice. This shows that people and businesses are investing more in their health. This why does not include those who need to be frugal and can’t afford a membership to a health club and those who don’t prioritize fitness as part of their spending.

Inside the Boundary
Outside the Boundary
Who
-       Gym goers who like working out independently and want to improve their cardio
-       Fitness centers
-       Those who can’t afford a gym membership or personal cardio machines
-       Gym goers who solely focus on weightlifting, prefer group fitness classes, play sports, or have found some other consistent alternative
-       Those who don’t have time to workout
What
-       As jobs become more sedentary and health awareness grows, there is a growing need to workout
-       This doesn’t impact those who don’t prioritize fitness or have found cheaper alternatives, like at home workouts.
Why
-       People are concerned with their health. Exercise improves cognition, sleep, digestion, physical appearance, and mood to name a few.
-       People need to be frugal or have found an alternative product and this doesn’t appeal

8A: Solving the Problem

I want to create a cardio machine that exposes users to numerous ranges of motion and is stimulating to use. This cardio machine would have a large HD touch screen where participants could select a workout from a variety of app workouts. A bracelet would be used to measure the participants motion and adjust the machine according to the motion. One “app” would be the basic app and feature an HD scenic course that would move at the speed of the participant. Another app would incorporate a game option into the course. The player would run through the course and move as different obstacles come along the way. In this app, the bracelet would be used to help tally points. Players could play against their friends in neighboring machines if they like. This new cardio machine would open the door for app developers and benefit gym goers.
