Who:
Through my interviews I found that gym goers who solely
focus on weightlifting, prefer group fitness classes, have found aerobic exercises
they love to replace cardio machines, don’t have time to work out, or are
uninterested in working out fall outside the boundary.
What:
In a society where jobs are becoming more sedentary and health
awareness is on the rise, there is a growing need to work out. This product is for
those who want to improve their cardio and want a more stimulating machine. This
what does not include anaerobic exercise, group fitness, or sports.
Why:

|
Inside the Boundary
|
Outside the Boundary
|
|
Who
|
-
Gym goers who like working out independently
and want to improve their cardio
-
Fitness centers
|
-
Those who can’t afford a gym membership or
personal cardio machines
-
Gym goers who solely focus on weightlifting, prefer
group fitness classes, play sports, or have found some other consistent
alternative
-
Those who don’t have time to workout
|
|
What
|
-
As jobs become more sedentary and health
awareness grows, there is a growing need to workout
|
-
This doesn’t impact those who don’t prioritize
fitness or have found cheaper alternatives, like at home workouts.
|
|
Why
|
-
People are concerned with their health. Exercise
improves cognition, sleep, digestion, physical appearance, and mood to name a
few.
|
-
People need to be frugal or have found an
alternative product and this doesn’t appeal

ReplyDeleteHey Ana! This is a really hard market since there is so much competition. You should maybe research Peloton if you have not already. In regards to their recent IPO, they have had a lot of struggles in accurately valuating their company. I think this may reveal to you some trends in this space and the macro environment that you may not have considered yet. You should also investigate in-office gyms and see if there is some way you could make these gyms more functional to allow for quicker in-and-out.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Peloton existed. Great advice, thanks!
DeleteAna,
ReplyDeleteI found it interesting that through your interviews you discovered that there is a need for more stimulating workout machines. I agree that health awareness is on the rise and that there is a growing need for working out. I try my best to work out regularly, but sometimes I find myself extremely busy or overwhelmed with school, etc... I definitely would consider the consumers who fall outside the boundary as money can be a large factor that can prohibit one from getting a gym membership and having access to luxury machines.
Best,
Sarah
