What's Your Secret Sauce?

There are three part of this exercise, which you should include in your post:
Describe five ways in which you think you have human capital that is truly unique. What is it about you, exactly, that makes you different? Write this up in a detailed list.

1.     Perspective: I have a way of looking at the world that makes sense to myself and to others. I’m levelheaded and give good advice.
2.     Judgement: I won’t jump to conclusions until I’ve thought things through and examined them from all sides. I’m also able to change my mind with new evidence.
3.     Sociable: I’m easy to approach. I also know how to fit into different social situations.
4.     Listening: I’m a good listener and therefore have a really good memory. I remember what people tell me and can usually relate to the person I’m speaking to.
5.     Patience: I’m extremely patient. I’m able to wait and keep a good attitude when confronted with setbacks or delays.

Interviews:
Roommate: Naomi says that I’m driven in all aspects of lifestyle and make sure to make time for the things that are important to me.

Roommate: Nikki says that I’m a hard worker and passionate towards the tasks I take on. She also says she can ask me about any situation she’s facing and respect my opinion.

Cristina: Cristina say’s that I’m a good listener. I’m able to look at all sides of a situation before passing judgement or forming an opinion.

Sister: Caro says that, when there’s a problem, I’m able to step in and make a decision as a leader. This allows me to accomplish my goals.

Sarah: Sarah says that I’m driven and hardworking. She also says that I’m a great listener and listen without passing judgement. This allows me to fully understand problems. I’m also reliable and turn in good quality work.

I found that these people were able to describe me well because they know me well. Sarah and Cristina both mentioned that I’m a good listener which is one of the traits I mentioned in the beginning. I also found it interesting that people perceived me to be as driven and hardworking as they did. This makes me happy.

  1. Hey Ana! It's great that you said you have good judgement. From what you described, it also seems like you have good self control. A lot of times I feel like we all may have good intentions but do not always follow through as we say we will or act as well as we hope we do. Being driven is so important in everything you do so it is nice to hear that your peers see that within you!

  2. Ana, I’m very glad that you are self-aware of your personality and traits. It seems as if you are very open minded and are a great people person. Your friends seem to agree with your assumptions as well and I would assume you guys all have great relationships due to how well they know you.. Keep up the hard work, others are clearly noticing.

  3. Hey Ana,

All the responses you have received from your interviewees show how great of a person you are. It is very nice to see that your family and friends see you as driven, a hard worker, a leader, and a good listener. These characteristics are very good and can be useful for an entrepreneur. As we continue with our opportunities, these characteristics will be important because of challenges we may face, needing to differentiate ourselves/products, and using customer feedback. You have all the right tools and I believe you embody the characteristics of an entrepreneur.
